National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist 2024 List. About 95 percent of the semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing, and about half of the finalists will win a national merit scholarship, earning the merit scholar®. Today, national merit scholarship corporation officials announced the names of more than 16,000 semifinalists in the 70th annual national merit scholarship.

High school students who take the preliminary sat/national merit scholarship qualifying test (psat/nmsqt ®) and meet other program requirements.
